About Virga

Move beyond forecasts to weather insight you can act on.

Virga is building the next generation of weather intelligence. At its core is ClimateSync, Virga's proprietary weather intelligence engine, which brings together multiple forecasting models, live observations, historical data and long-range forecasting inputs, then continuously evaluates and calibrates those sources against real-world performance to produce guidance that is more reliable, consistent, and tailored to each location.

Who we are

Built by a team that has done this before.

Our team brings 75+ years in weather, climate, and aviation technology, with work supporting customers including the FAA, U.S. Department of Defense, NATO, and the National Science Foundation. We go beyond predicting the weather to translating complex data into clear signals that drive better operational decisions.

The forecast engine

How ClimateSync works

Every forecast model has strengths and weaknesses. ClimateSync calibrates each one against how it has actually performed, fine-tuning temperature with statistical methods and correcting precipitation against real-world outcomes, so the system doesn’t just repeat the models; it corrects them to better match reality.

As new data flows in each day, our calibration sharpens over time, making insight more dependable the longer we run. The result is a smarter, more resilient way to understand and manage weather-driven risk.

Inside the model

What makes ClimateSync different.

Multi-model blend

Instead of trusting one model, ClimateSync draws on NOAA’s GEFS and CFSv2 ensembles, licensed long-range LRC® model data, live observations, and historical data, for more robust, reliable guidance.

Calibrated confidence

Each source is calibrated against its real track record (Non-homogeneous Gaussian Regression for temperature, isotonic regression for precipitation), so probabilities reflect real-world reliability, not raw model output.

Location-specific risk

An H3 hexagonal grid resolves forecasts and weather-risk scores to each monitored location, so alerts reflect what’s happening where you operate, not a broad regional average.

Sharpens over time

New forecast and verification data flow in every day. As it accumulates, ClimateSync periodically refits its calibration, sharpening confidence over time. Temperature and precipitation alerts are live today, with more variables on the way.

Don’t let weather catch you off guard.

Turn complex weather data into clear, location-specific risk insight, and act early with confidence.
